Description
In the context of setting up a German GBIF network the node for Bacteria and Archaea aims at:
- creation of a common access point for the microbiological collection databases in Germany and establishing links to GBIF International
- construction of universal virtual collections
- support of the digitalization of data and harmonization of data capture in German collections of prokaryotes and viruses
- progressing linking of data/databases via the internet
- close cooperation with the other national nodes, with GBIF International and other regional and international organizations.
